canada day, shmanada shmay

we were in calgary for canada day. we were lucky enough to get put on the dayglo abortions show, last minute. it was a fun show. the daytime was surely fear based as we barely slept the night before and had to deke through thousands of people in the downtown area for a big canada day party. we were all feared out. we spent some good time laying the the grass and napping. also, the cops/narcs are way more uptight about drinking in public. montreal has that shit down.

this picture says so much. marc looks like a hobo, who enjoys weird fettish porn. taylor is just grinning in the back, but if you look carefully, he's reading a book about the 3rd reich (but to the untrained eye, he could be reading mein kampf).

they look like a racist couple.

What Would Andrew W.K. Do?

in winnipeg, we opened for andrew w.k.
andrew w.k. is my jesus. that guy totally rules. it doesn't even matter anymore that he tours with only a casio keyboard and plays borderline 'midi' versions of his songs while hammering the keyboard around. its like a huge entertaining motivational speech. and i had a blast. i dont stage dive much anymore. the last time i did was at the lifetime reunion tour 2 years ago. but its andrew wk. i pretty much had to.

this is my partying on stage with andrew wk getting mobbed in the background.

if you look carefully under that guy crowdsurfing in the brown tshirt, you can see a bit of tie-dye. thats me. that fucking guy jumped on my when i was crowdsurfing, and we all went down like a sack of (party) potatoes.

marc and taylor got on stage and into the action. note the sketchy chicks all over the place. that was winnipeg in a nutshell.

saluting the sarge

for years, kev has been ranting and raving about a milshake place in winnipeg called Sargent Sundaes. "the best milkshakes ever", he says. i ripped on him over and over saying that it didn't exist, cause we had already been to winnipeg twice, and he didnt even remember where it was.

well we found it. and these hobos were in heaven.

they had a raspberry sorbet for my veeg-ass

Lords of louisville

Lords spent more time working on their van than partying, i think. this should be their tour photo.

blood sport

we jumped off some rocks into a lake near marcs parents place in studbury. mark somehow managed to slice his foot up good. he bled all over some rocks, and some hippy girl wrapped up his foot in her hemp scarf that reaked of weed.

to "one-up" my dad

he rips beers in the street, i added american JOOSE and a bottle of tequila.

my pop

my dad is ripping a grolsch tall can in the middle of the street.

weird beers

taylor found roughly 30 mixed beers in a cube left in chubbs, from over a year ago. the cube of brews managed to make it through a hot summer, and a cold winter, and the thawing spring. these beers were sketchy looking, but since they were once forgotten, they were a treasure. we expected the worst, but they weren't half bad.

this brew was the first weird beer we tried. it passed the first test... i didn't go blind.

this "domer" can was once frozen solid, and since water expands roughly 9% when frozen (thank you grade 8 science class), it made the bottom of the can push out like a dome (creative name eh)

this pbr tall can we was the wabler, or the wiggler. i dont remember. it was almost deflated, and it was really weird cause it was still sealed. taylor learned quickly that this brew-ha-ha went bad. he spat it up on my shoe (see below)

tour, blog, review

tour is always better than anything else i could be doing. even in the bleakest of times.

we are supposed to be doing a blog for exclaim for this second half of our tour, so stay tuned for some funny shit. if youre bored check exclaim.ca for it soon.

also, our album, BANGERS, just got released (officially) and reviewed online at exclaim (http://www.exclaim.ca/musicreviews/latestsub.aspx?csid1=134&
csid2=870&fid1=39510) and in the montreal mirror.

favourite records

at first i was like, fuck yea i can pick my top 5 records no prob. nope. hardest thing ive ever tried. im only sure of 2 of them so far, the rest keep changing. i have favourite bands, songs, records, and how can i really choose between them? can't.
i also haven't figured out how to write shit under each individual picture. maybe i will learn. either way.

CIV - Set Your Goals
- hands down the most influential record ive ever heard, and my number one of all time. perfect mix of pop punk and hardcore. never saw them live, only saw the gorilla biscuits. EDGE!

The Format - Interventions and Lullabies
- indie rock / folk album. poppy as hell, catchy as hell too. i saw these guys years back. they opened for piebald and the jealous sound. blew me away. then years later i heard their songs on laguna beach shows. pissed me off. why was i watching laguna beach? shut up.

more to come... (ie: lifetime, hall and oates, etc)

good idea

taylor told me a long time ago that i should get a tattoo of a potato, with stick legs, holding a sign that says "party". so i did.
my buddy juan did it for me. hes a "expert" at stick'n'pokes apparently, so i let him do this to my thigh with a real tattoo gun (thanks amanda). it rules. how much does this rule? totally rips.

st patricks parade

st patricks day parade in montreal. the closest thing i had to a green shirt was my turquoise san jose sharks jersey. go sharks! PZ took these of me mikey and geoff, the last time i was drunk (march 22nd).
