long drives

we got some good luck on our drive from brandon to calgary. long, straight, smooth, like hall and oates.
tour rules.

good buds

beauty part about being on tour is seeing friends you havent seen in a long time. calgary is home to some old buds, josh dixon and dave gowland. i grew up with josh and i went to school with dave. we went out for big beers.

late night record shops

winnipeg was cold. show was amazing. huge place lots of people. after the gig we stayed at kevs friend charday's house. she was awesome. she runs a record shop and we went there after the bar around 3am. it was pretty rad. mark was in heaven, dude loves records more than he loves boobs.

bison

is very loud.

high kicks

the transcanada was closed from sault ste marie to wawa so we had to stay in the soo. bands got hotel rooms and we got hammered. kev challenged dan from bison to a high kicking challenge. dan won. kev was really close. it was awesome.

this picture sums it up driving from sudbury to thunder bay. it was ridiculous. our wipers were terrible and we ran out of washer fluid. also, a car in the oncoming lane spun out in front of us and nearly hit us. but that car kept 360ing and hit a fence and i thought it was going to go into a 15 foot ditch, but i saw in the rearview that it got back into the middle of the road and stopped. the bumper flew off the car and a truck behind that car had to stop and nearly jacknifed and blocked the road. it was a close one, phew.

this haggard crew

man we suck eh? look at us. we look terrible.
many thanks to evan who came along with us this first week. he was totally rad and party with us. crucal bro.
the van in the backround, named Gooch Gump, is our new home. we got the name gooch from the nickname of our lord and savior, adrian popovich. dude saved our lives.

got my drinkin legs back.

we had a warm up gig on the 10th of nov. in montreal which was a little shakey but crucial. ottawa the next day was fuckin wicked and we played awesome. went out to zaphods and partied with trev and tyson. also partied with the artist life dudes. then got hit on by some sketchbag in zaks diner, she was from the mission, tried to get me to go home with her. gross.
london, lots of free booze. wicked show.
hamilton, decent show, went back to my parents in oakville, slept well, ate well.
king kaboom tv show, hilarious.
then oshawa that night, piles of free booze, piles of free food (including "hobo fries") and some crazy old biker chick showing everyone her boobs (i missed it though).
toronto show was fuckin awesome. good crowd. lots of people were there that i grew up with, my mom was there too. we played super well. some folks i wanted to see didn't show (bit of a bummer) but we will be back. again, lots of booze. crashed at marikas for a few days and she mothered us well. then back to my parents to be mothered some more. lots of food, and even moonshine.
HOWEVER, we did manage to stop in streetsville to see blackships play with vatican chainsaw massacre. both were great. the other band that never played that night got into a huge fight with the owner of the bar, it was hilarious. an awkward brawl happened out back and i was in the middle trying to break it up, taylor yelled at me to let it go and i backed off. a lot of pillows and muffins were thrown. bit of blood, everyone walked away fine. cops came. then the kids (in the worst band ever) drive away and called everyone fags and burned a red light. police caught them again. d-bags. what a week.

chance and tyler

these fellas came out to our london show, sweet bros. nick, aaron, graeme, also came out, to name a few. it was hilarious. got lots of free beer then drank til i passed out in my van. woke up soaked in beer after i fell asleep with a beer in my hand. also spilt beer all over the van. that was day 2.

king kaboom

we got hooked up to play on a tv show, a variety tv show with skits and cartoons and bands. it was a weird/hilarious experience but it was pretty fun and we got lots of free food and i would do it again.

tall, shark, and handsome

we owe a lot to this dude. his band gets lots of free beer and food, and we eat their left overs when they aren't looking. they help us get drunk, and they brought us on tour. rad.

tour

for anyone who cares, i will be posting pics and writing brief stories of my life on the road, which no matter what, is way better than anything else i could be doing. this is it.
